Joe Mazur was named President of the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad in early 2017. The CVSR exists to provide a means for people to experience and engage in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, a community and regional asset. In addition to a regular schedule, its programs include the Explorer Program; education programs for students and the public delivered by the National Park Service; fine dining excursions; holiday-themed trips, and children’s program The North Pole AdventureTM.
Over the past 5 years Joe and his team have managed to complete a $4 million capital campaign that transformed CVSR into one of the top scenic railroads in the country. Improvements include acquiring two California Zephyr dome cars, renovation of several dining cars and coach cars. These improvements enhanced the rider’s experience. Also, many upgrades were made to the fleet of locomotives.

Jennifer McDowell did a wonderful job of representing Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. She had lovely photos and stories to share and there is something for everyone there. From wedding venues (more than 70 a year are held there) to Classic Car Shows to the favorite Ohio Mart, Stan Hywet has something to appeal to everyone. The gardens are carefully maintained to provide color and design features for all seasons. There is a gift shop and small cafe onsite, too. Plan to make a day of it!

Across Europe, Rotaract members are using digital tools to share information and coordinate to help people who have been affected by the war in Ukraine
...Last Saturday was a Service Day for Hudson Rotary and we accomplished a lot. Rotarians were everywhere at the Hudson PTO Pancake Breakfast. So nice to see everyone out helping the PTO hold a successful event, And the Ellsworth Hills Pollinator Garden is CLEAN and full of perennial plants. It was a joint effort with members of the Clocktower Club. The garden is an amazing sight and the first blooms of the season are already out--Prairie Wallflower!
...And we will be digging in the dirt again this Saturday, May 7th when the new Pollinator Garden at East Woods Elementary is planted. We'll gather at 9:00 am and hope to be done at 11:00 am.
