Steve Kaufman currently serves as a Senior Instructional Designer / Strategic Initiatives Coordinator for The University of Akron's Online Learning Services team. He is responsible for working one-on-one with faculty members to develop online courses and programs, applying innovative and pedagogically sound practices. He is an OhioLINK Affordable Learning Ambassador, and oversees UA's Affordable Learning Initiative. 

As a Certified Quality Matters Master Reviewer, Course Review Manager and Facilitator, he assists and leads online course reviews for various universities and colleges. He also assists and guides faculty at The University of Akron in their development of online and hybrid courses.

He is also the owner of Kaufman Photography, which focuses on creative storytelling for weddings, seniors, and families.

his specialties include Instructional design, instructional design leadership, project management, online quality assurance, faculty training and development, photography, business management, gamification, and open education.  Mr. Kaufman obtained is Bachelors and Masters degrees from 'bowling Green.
